Let's face it - if you're a learning professional part of your job is to learn new things every day. That's one of the best bits of the job.
However, as with so many things in life it can be easier to do things with somebody else in mind.
If you're finding it difficult to absorb something new take a step back. Think about yourself as one of your learners. What is your objective? What are the steps you need to take in order to achieve that objective?
Structure a learning path for yourself - in exactly the same way you would for another learner.
It's possible that I'm making assumptions here and this is what you do quite naturally. All I say is if you are finding it hard to absorb something you're learning - just take a step back and make sure you are allowing yourself a structured personal learning approach.
